They do! And that’s just the truth of the matter. It’s bitter, but sweet. It sucks that as dreamers a significant portion of our journey may appear barren, desolate, empty – as if all our efforts are unproductive. On the other hand, it’s comforting to know that we have time to get it right and work through things. It’s a process! Yeah I know. The most cliche’ of all cliche’ phrases. The oh-so-common, overused, bootleg-synopsis of all we go through. “It’s a process!” I have such a love-hate relationship with this phrase. As much as I dread hearing it, I cannot deny how true it is. Ugh! I hate being cornered into accepting something I don’t want too! And this is one of those statements – bitter, sweet, complicated, messy and true. Dreams Take Time. They take blood, sweat, tears, energy, heart, passion, guts, sacrifice, trial-and-error, mistakes, planning, planning again, and this is all what happens in month #1.
See why we dreamers struggle to digest this cardinal truth? It’s a challenge. Dreams Take Time! And Dreamers feel it. We feel empty and drained. Sometimes intimidated and ineffective. Sometimes we feel crazy! Completely out of our minds to think that we can ACTUALLY do this. Well as hard as it is to understand what dreams take, it is even harder to believe that it’s even worth it in the first place. This is why we need TIME! Because dreams take time we get to (trigger word) “PROCESS” it all. We get to discover just how “worth it” it is. In this “time” there is pain, but there is also beauty, so much beauty. We watch ourselves grow and evolve into something more, something deeper, something stronger. Most of all, something happier. And that’s a great thing and well worth all the “hell” we go through while we’re building. I know you don’t see it now, and I’m right there with you wiping my eyes struggling to see the end of all this too, but I just believe that every single thing we do to build our dreams is ALWAYS worth it. I have no doubt that at the end of my life, I’ll have fewer regrets because I threw caution to the wind and just went for it. Since I’m out here, I may as well go for it all, right? And guess what, you and I are no different. If I can, you can too. No matter what dreams you have keep working through the days of feeling unproductive. Know that it’s perfectly normal to have days where you feel all over the place. You’re not alone. You have time. And…Dreams Take Time. Don’t let this statement’s complexity consume you. Focus on building. Use your time wisely. Little steps count. Bigger steps are coming. I’m in it with you Dreamer. Today, we go for it!
